March Statistics about the Consultative center for prevention of and overcoming domestic violence and discrimination

During the period from 1.03.2012 to 31.03.2012 ten clients visited GAF’s Consultative center. Nine out of them are women.

The overall number of the consultations that has been given is 23, 13 of which are within the program of psycho-social counseling and 10 are legal consultations.

Cases brought before the court: The number of cases which has been conducted before the court owing to GAF’s support is 4 – they are based on Domestic Violence Act and Family Code.

As a whole, eight clients have managed to find their way out of the violent situation. The data provided is based on the clients’ decisions, the filed applications before the court and the assigned by the court measures for protection of the victims and their children.

The foundation works in collaboration with different institutions, involved with the problem “domestic violence” and “discrimination” – Plovdiv Municipality, The local Commission for combating trafficking in human beings; Plovdiv’s regional and district courts, Plovdiv’s regional and district Prosecutor’s office, Social assistance directorate – Plovdiv, Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior – Plovdiv, Regionalunitperformance of penalties - Plovdiv,  Department “Child protection” - Plovdiv, Community support center – Plovdiv,  Complex for Social Services for Children and Families – Plovdiv; Bulgarian Red Cross- Plovdiv and other NGOs and experts involved with the problem of domestic violence and discrimination. The foundation also participates in initiatives of Plovdiv Municipality – Central district and Western district by signing “ Social peace and security contracts”.
